Redevelopment of the Oktyabrskoye Pole industrial zone: what will be the new district of Moscow
We tell you how the development of the former industrial zone within the framework of the integrated territorial development program will change the area in the north-west of the capital
For more than three years now, Moscow has been implementing a comprehensive territorial development program (CRT), which involves the reorganization of former industrial zones and inefficiently used sections of the city. The first site, which it was decided to reorganize within the framework of the KRT, was the Oktyabrskoye Pole industrial zone in the Shchukino district. At the moment, there is an active construction going on there.
Thanks to the KRT program, previously depressed areas receive a new life, an intensive development impulse due to new business spaces, housing and infrastructure, independent economist Andrey Barkhota notes. The successful implementation of projects for the integrated development of territories in the area of the Oktyabrskoye Pole industrial zone and locations adjacent to Berzarina Street is the first brick in the foundation of the renovation of former industrial zones in Moscow, the expert believes.
We tell you how the site is developing and what has changed here during this time.
About the Oktyabrskoye Pole industrial zone
Previously, there were buildings of a carpool and a former factory of reinforced concrete products, spontaneous warehouses, garages and landfills on the Oktyabrsky Pole. This is a classic example of the so-called "rust belt" of Moscow, which is surrounded by dense residential development.
There are two metro stations near the industrial zone — Shchukinskaya and Oktyabrskoye Pole. In addition, the construction of the stations "Zhivopisnaya" and "Boulevard of General Karbyshev" of the Rublevo-Arkhangelsk metro line is underway in the northwest. At the same time, such major highways as Marshal Biryuzov and People's Militia Streets pass through the industrial zone. There is also a comfortable exit to Zvenigorodskoye highway and to the understudy of Leningradsky Prospekt.
What will be built in the Oktyabrskoye Pole industrial zone
It is planned to build housing, commercial and social infrastructure, as well as landscaping and landscaping on the site of the Oktyabrskoye Pole industrial zone.
The area of the former industrial zone "Oktyabrskoye Pole", which is subject to reorganization within the framework of the integrated development project, is 5.92 hectares. It is located on Berzarina Street. The redevelopment of the site is being carried out by the investor-developer RG-Development, which has already started the construction of real estate.
"The uniqueness of the residential complexes being built as part of the redevelopment consists of a number of factors, including the author's architecture, advanced social services, including a multi-format school, kindergartens and a medical center, cluster development with the adjacent Kurchatov Institute research center (promising development of the technopark)," said the founder of the Agency for Strategic Development “CENTER” Sergey Georgievsky.
