The annual ARCH MOSCOW International Exhibition of Architecture and Design took place in Gostiny Dvor from May 24 to 27.

ARCH MOSCOW is a unique event that allows participants to acquaint themselves with new trends in the world of architecture and design, as well as gain new knowledge and experience.

The framework of the exhibition included seminars and workshops, lectures, and professional discussions on modern trends in Russian and world architecture, urban planning and improvement of the urban environment.

Agency of the Strategic Development CENTER held a series of events at the exhibition:

  • May 25 (15:00–16:00) in the CITY Hall. Session: “The Big Circle Line. The New Architectural Appearance of the Moscow Metro”;
  • May 25 (19:30–21:00) in the CITY Hall. Talk show: “Urbanization of Territory Development. From Monopoly to Pluralism of Urban Solutions”;
  • May 26 (11:00–12:00) in the ART-Laboratory Hall. Case session: “Smart city—Grozny”.


In the framework of the ARCH MOSCOW International Exhibition and Forum of Architecture and Design there was a discussion: “The Big Circle Line. The New Architectural Appearance of the Moscow Metro”.

Moderator - Co-founder of the Agency of the strategic development CENTER Sergei Georgievskii.

The panelists included:

  • Sergey Glubokin, Deputy Head of the Office of the Architectural Council of the Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of the City of Moscow;
  • Igor Bakhirev, first deputy director of the Moscow Genplan Institute;
  • Vladimir Buturlintsev, head of the architectural department for the design of metro facilities at Mosproekt-3;
  • Arseny Borisenko, co-founder of the za bor architectural studio;
  • Tatyana Osetskaya, co-founder of ARCHSLON;
  • Ilya Udovichenko, lead designer at Artemy Lebedev Studio;

The Big Circle Line was launched fully in March 2023. It was the largest subway construction project in Russia and the world.

Since 2014, at the initiative of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin and Chief Architect Sergey Kuznetsov, a course has been taken to restore competitive practice for the development of the architectural appearance of Moscow Metro stations.

Each of the new Big Circle Line stations has an individual design. Agency of the Strategic Development CENTER was the operator of the International Competitions for the development of the architectural appearance of the stations Nagatinsky Zaton, Klenovy Bulvar, Sheremetyevskaya (Maryina Roscha), Rzhevskaya (Rizhskaya), and Stromynka (Sokolniki).

To discuss current issues of urban development within the framework of the ARCH MOSCOW International Exhibition and Forum of Architecture and Design, a discussion in the format of a talk show was held: “Urbanization of Territory Development. From Monopoly to Pluralism of Urban Solutions”.

Experts from the Urban Alliance met in an improvised “studio”:

  • Aleksandr Krasavtsev, managing partner of the POLIS Institute for Urban Development;
  • Alina Bisembaeva, founder of STEP. Transportation Solutions;
  • Anastasia Kolchina, co-founder of sinitsa-buro;
  • Valentina Solovyeva, CEO of OTS Lab;
  • Ilya Abrosimov, CEO of the Urban Technology and Urban Studies Research Center;
  • Ketevan Khelaya, co-founder, CEO of the International Urban Laboratory CENTER Lab;
  • Maksim Orlov, CEO of ONY;
  • Pavel and Yuliya Stepantsov, co-founders of Synopsis.Group;
  • Roman Zolin, founder of Touch point Lab;
  • Nikolai Timchenko, CEO of Agency of the Strategic Development CENTER.

Specialists discussed how uberization can help improve the quality of life of citizens, simplify access to services, and improve the cost-effectiveness of urban mechanisms.

A “Smart city—Grozny” case-session, devoted to the future of Grozny, its development and prospects, was held within the framework of the ARCH MOSCOW International Exhibition and Forum.

The session was attended by:

  • Anton Finogenov, director of Urban Environment Development at DOM.RF;
  • Muslim Gayrbekov, chairman of the State Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of the Chechen Republic;
  • Alikhan Tokshaev, chief architect of Grozny;
  • Tatyana Karavaeva, vice president, head of the Spatial Development section of the Center for Strategic Research (CSR);
  • Polina Neustroeva, head of the Agency of the Strategic Development CENTER analytical group;

Grozny is a city with a rich history, which showed the world the phenomenon of rebirth from ruins in record time.

In 2009, the capital of the Chechen Republic was awarded an honorary diploma by the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) in the category “Post-Conflict Reconstruction”.

Today, Grozny is a modern city that ranks among leaders in many indicators of socio-economic development. And soon, the capital of the Chechen Republic will have its own master plan.
